Our Story

From humble beginnings to becoming one of Sydney's most respected furniture workshops, our journey has been shaped by a passion for craftsmanship and a dedication to quality.

2008

The Beginning

Xorthex was founded in a small garage workshop in Marrickville by master craftsman J. Wilson, who began by creating custom pieces for friends and family.

2011

First Workshop

Growing demand led to our first proper workshop space in St. Peters, where we expanded our team to include two additional craftsmen specialising in restoration.

2015

Commercial Projects

We began taking on commercial furniture projects for cafés and offices, expanding our capabilities and establishing partnerships with interior designers.

2018

Sustainability Focus

We formalized our commitment to sustainable practices, sourcing certified timber and implementing eco-friendly finishes across all projects.

2020

Current Workshop

We moved to our current spacious workshop in the heart of Sydney, allowing us to take on larger projects and accommodate our growing team.
